What are private keys?

Private keys are unique, secret cryptographic codes that serve as your digital signature and proof of ownership for your crypto assets. They function similar to the master key for a safe deposit box - whoever has the private key controls the assets inside.

  • You alone hold your private keys

  • These keys are never stored by VaultLeap

  • Private keys are mathematically linked to your public address
