How much do I need to deposit for it to arrive?

in Receiving & Sending MoneyHelp Article
  • ✅ Rule of thumb: deposit at least $1.50 (or €1.50 / 60 MXN). That always clears the minimum, so your money shows up and is ready to send.

  • USD / EUR (ACH / SEPA): must be more than $1.00 / €1.00 after fees.

  • MXN (SPEI): must be more than 50 MXN after fees.

⚠️ Why a small deposit may not appear: VaultLeap takes a small fee (up to 0.75%) out of each deposit, so the amount that actually lands is what's left after the fee. For it to settle, that leftover must be more than $1.00. A deposit that's too small won't show up in your balance and can't be sent — which is why a $1.00 deposit often doesn't arrive.

🚫 A deposit below the minimum isn't credited or returned. This is standard banking practice — moving tiny amounts ("dust") costs more than the payment itself.

👉 When in doubt, send a little extra. $1.50 or more always clears the minimum after fees.

Example:

  • $1.00 deposit → about $0.99 after fees → below the $1.00 minimum, so it doesn't settle or show in your balance.

  • $1.50 deposit → about $1.49 after fees → clears the minimum, lands in your balance, ready to send.

  • €1.50 or 60 MXN → same idea: comfortably above the minimum once fees are taken out.

(The base minimums come from the ACH / SEPA / SPEI networks; VaultLeap's fee is taken out on top of that, which is why we recommend depositing a little more.)
